Never saw them in a schools uniform, never saw them in any family gatherings, never saw them in a doctor’s uniform, never saw them in a police uniform, never saw them as a teacher. Never ever saw them in any respectable place. Why??
The first time I saw them was on TV begging for money from people trains and clapping and taking money from homes where a child in newly born. And the first time I really saw them was on a train begging for money. What alternative they would have when their own parents left them?
I have seen children mocking school boys who had slightly feminine facial attributes. How would these type of kids would treat the third gender? I don’t think they would treat very well until these things are tought by their parents, schools and other elderly people to respect everyone as a person not as a gender.
In present day India many people are accepting their child if it’s of third gender unlike the past. But the situation isn’t that great for them.
Untill and unless they are given equal stature in society, they can never be uplifted. And by equal status , they should be seen by common people working in hospitals as doctors or nurses, as a police officer, as a scientist, as an software engineer and many more.
The day you find them sitting besides you in a cubicle or as a flight co- passenger or as an attendant. You would know they have really been uplifted in a true sense.
The day parents giving birth to a third gender do not sacrifice them out of shame. You would know that the third gender had really been uplifted.
According to news sources, university for transgender will be opening soon in Uttar Pradesh,India. That’s a great step ahead. Similarly, I hope someday they can study in same schools or universities with males and females without any embarrassment.
One of the fundamental rights for us is “Right to Equality”. Hope they would get equal opportunities one day and there would be no discrimination from any person anywhere.

40 years back an Army official named “Sanjay” moved with his wife “Vibha” and two sons “Sameer and Sahil” who were 6 and 8 years old respectively to a remote area of Arunachal Pradesh, India named Bomdila. They were provided a very beautiful British type cottage as a quarter to stay. Getting posted in such a remote location was a matter of concern for them although the scenic beauty was great but there was little or no connectivity with other places. Snowfall with less food availability was a matter of concern too.
So “Sanjay and Vibha” decided to keep some cows for milk and chickens for meat. So they go to the nearby village to get few chickens and cows transported at their home. Initially it was difficult for them to connect with the locals due to language difference but finally they succeed at bargaining. They finally came back at time while the children were playing at the home.
As time passed by they made pretty close aquitances. After few days it was their younger son Sameer’s seventh Birthday. So Sanjay and Vibha planned a grand celebration for him. They went to their village aquitances and invited them.
Surprisingly most of them declined their invitation. It was kind of shocking and confusing for them as no one willing to visit them despite being close.
The very next day they get a call from one of their close friend “Doni”. He says Sanjay to come and meet him as soon as possible. Sanjay rushes at Doni’s place.
Sanjay asks Doni ” Hey! What happened??”
Why did you call me in such hurry??
Doni said “Please don’t be angry at us Villagers for declining your invitation!!. It is just that people are scared to go nearby the tree at your house. It has a spirit of an evil old man who lived at your current house his entire life. Many people feel him around them when they are nearby the tree. He committed many crimes and also killed his own son for marrying outside community”
Sanjay angrily tells Doni if it’s true why didn’t you all tell me before. I have already settled all my belongings. Now I need to search for a new house with the fear for my wife and kids.
“What if we cut or burn the tree!! Since the spirit is attached to the tree , he will be gone for good” says Sanjay. “What if the ghost harms you?” Doni says to Sanjay.
“I haven’t experienced any of that but I do believe in spirits and there must be something that’s the reason people were reluctant to visit our home. Better to get rid of it Doni” .
Doni says to Sanjay that he will arrange a priest next day so that the spirit will be captured while cutting the tree and there will be no more fear to the people.
That very night very strong earthquake occurred. All the houses nearby were destroyed and people came out of their homes.
Sanjay also came out with his family to save themselves. To his surprise he sees lighting and thunderstorms but only in his premises. The earthquake continued but only for the area in which he and his family lived.
All of a sudden all the metal pieces came flying towards them. Sanjay and his family tried to go back inside their house but the house fell down at a glance.
Multiple axes came towards them and Sanjay tried to protect his family despite knowing there is no escape. The weapons flying all of a sudden stopped and floated and then came the spirit of the old man for his revenge to make him go away.
Fear surrounded all of them. Then suddenly they realised the branches and roots of the tree grew bigger and removed all the weapons at a single hit. The roots grew in upward direction and surrounded the entire family in shape of a hut with fireflies inside it. Dewdrops oozed out of the tree, it cried of pain while using so much power to fight the old man’s spirit.
The “Soul of the Tree” saved them which they were about to cut and overpowered the old man’s spirit.
Note: Here the tree signifies the forest and the old man’s spirit is the pollution caused by industries. And there can be one more interpretation that the tree is the goodness inside all of us and the old man’s spirit is the evils which we have in our mind.
Heart sized of a peanut, three fingers at each hands just like a miniature Barbie doll. My first glance was enough for her to fall in love with me when she saw me online.
“Hi! My Name is Motu and I am a dark Brown Syrian Hamster”. Wonder why I am called that….I have never been to Syria. But it seems like a nice place with trees, tunnels and food.
My owner “Ajil” had me transferred to his friend in a small box with windows living nearby her place. After sometime she came and took me.
Leaving my old friends was difficult for me. As I have never seen the outside world. This was the first time I had seen what the world looks from outside. Seeing giants shouting “peep peep” at each other, the first thing came to my mind was ” Ham- shit” this sucks man. I just wanted to go home.
Once I was taken by her, she tried to keep me inside a cage with a couple . An albino lady with red eyes and her blonde husband. Man he got agitated by seeing me, we had a though fight not nothing. Why would I hit on his wifey who looked furious and angry as hell always in attacking mode that too with Red eyes.
As I was fluffier and cuter than the other two she and her friends named me “Motu” meaning “fluffy or fat”. Next day I was shifted to another cage. Thank goodness 🙏 no more fights. Her other friends Purvi, Prathama and Reema loved me a lot. Especially Reema kept on holding me.
You see I am a pure vegan. So I do have a lot of attitude 😂. My day starts with carrots then corriander leaves and ends with broccoli. See it’s “Not slimy but satisfying” against the rule of Timon – the Meerkat.
One day the lady in white was about to have babies so her husband “Golu” was transferred kept with me. Her kids didn’t make it. Felt sorry for her. After few days he was was shifted again with her.
One day I got a huge gift. It was a new house bigger than the previous one with slides and a bigger wheel. I was the king , it had everything big like me.
Few months passed by and I got old. Maybe my day was near to go somewhere dark a place more darker than the tunnels our ancestors made to same us from predators. Next morning I was still and not moving at all , I heard my human friend say to her other friend “I don’t see him moving, he seems to breathe but is isn’t moving… That’s unlikely of him!!”. The other friend says we shall take him to a vetenary doctor. After some time we visit her friend place. They felt sad too looking at me.
After a while I was taken to the vet. He said “a hamster”. He gave me something to drink, I wasn’t in the condition to drink. Then he inserted a sword inside me. Lastly a shock….he gave me like in movies. I jumped at once at moved actively. Finally “A Ray of Hope” at everyone’s eye I could see. The doctor fella said I will be fine. Take him after sometime, I will take care of him.
My Friend came after sometime to take me with her. I was playing well. And others were happy too.
I had a good one week with her and others. I remember hiding all my food inside the sofa and under the fridge and the work they had to do keep it back inside.
This time after a week I left for good. I had my last heartbeat. My soul was out of my old , cute and fluffy body. I was still at home and I could see others getting sad.
I was burried in a garden with flowers specifically dandelions with the HOPE of getting a better afterlife.
Trying to hide from something which can’t be seen by anyone is the most difficult part. 65 year old “Charu” living with her son, daughter in law and grandchildren in Pune, experienced the same.
Her son recently bought an old washing machine from a shop which deals with used electrical appliances at low rates. She was furious at her son for bringing a low grade old washing machine as they belonged from a well to do family with high standards of living.
She told her son to get rid of it because it degraded her image of a high class elite lady. Seeing his mother getting disappointed he agreed to rent it out to some other family or group of bachelor friends. As there is a huge demand for electrical home appliances at rent.
“I am gonna take a nap” says Charubala to her son and goes back to her room. The moment she closes her eyes her subcontious mind plays a trick and she sees her son bargaining with the seller for the washing machine he bought just now.
“Stop it Son…I already told you that I don’t want this junk at my place” she says. She is inaudible to him and also not visible. All of a sudden she hears a voice “take me with you dear , why do you hate me so much?”. She is still not able to identify where the voice is coming from. Transiting from the current subconscious level to another point …..all she sees is darkness and multiple galaxies, stars, planets and eventually everything is quiet and calm in her mind.
She hears the voice again “why do you hate me so much?”. At that moment she realises the same old washing machine talking to her. She screams what are you, why are you following me?
” I am the creation which you hate the most….. dislike….. and many people embrace me happily despite having nothing in their lives. You have everything still you get so much worried by my slightest glance in form of a washing machine. I am God who came to you in the form of Poverty. Not to make you poor but to make you understand the plight of the poor and destitutes. To make to understand not to look down on them and help them. Imagine your life without your poor house maid, your driver and others. Still you treat them bad and insult them. Life without respect is no life…….no matter how much you earn.
With a confusing look at her face she wakes up. Her son asks her if she is fine. She simply smiles and says “For a rich man charity is the best way to please God”. Instead of renting the washing machine we should give it to our driver for free. I have earned a lot but distributed little. It’s time for me to change myself for good.
