Alternatives….

the choices we make now determines our future

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”

Robert Louis Stevenson

Fourty five year old Shelly while watching a television show went to deep thoughts within herself.

Oh God!! Why did I lose most of my loved ones? Shelly asks the question inside her head. All I tell is reality and people can’t digest,so they leave me right.

All of a sudden the volume of the TV gets increased and Shelly comes back out of her thoughts.

No!!! The says the child in the TV show was being bullied.

The channel switched to another. There the words of the protagonist were “Your reality may be correct according to you but my reality is correct according to me.”

The channel switched again where a teacher says to his student “But you insulted others just to prove yourself right.”

The transmitter changed its frequency again and the channel got changed where Shelly felt that the anchor was personally talking to her. The shows name was “Welcome to the Reality”.

Hi ! I am Tom. And here I am giving you the chance to change your past.

Shelly’s room changed into a restaurant where she sees her ex girlfriend Sofia in the same way they used to meet regularly. Shelly gets a call from her old fling again, she ignored Sofia again for her old fling and was about to leave. Shelly was about to betray Sofia again. This time Sofia says “I left you because you were not trust worthy. You got a chance to change yourself again but you opted what you opted before and I am sorry to say that loneliness is your destiny. Because you betrayed the people who trusted you and never felt guilty or repented for it.”

Before Shelly could think of anything she shifts another point of her life where she was a college student. And she was scolded by her for bunking more than 75 percent of her classes. Out of anger Shelly decides to defame the teacher by filing a fake molestation case. At the present moment also she was scolded by the teacher and thinks of doing the same again. The teacher says to her ” I scolded you because you were like a daughter to me. I scolded you because I wanted that all my students should have a bright career including you. But see what you did. What choice you made and the choice you made for your personal satisfaction ruined my entire life and family. I don’t think you deserve anyone to show you the right path because some people are full of filth inside and you are one of them”

The scenario changed again where she meets a friend with whom she was having argument regarding office related stuff. This time Shelly says to her friend you left me because we had an argument and you did not agree with me. No!! Her friend said. The argument was not even the issue at all. We all have people around us with whom our thinking do not match but we do adjust. I stopped being friends with you because you were disrespecting, dominating, arrogant, untrustworthy not only for me but for almost everyone around us. And you never realised or maybe you realized but never tried to change yourself. You always found the fault in others but never looked within yourself that how you were with others.

“Some people learn from their mistakes and some don’t. The first type of people are respected and the next type is discarded someday or the other.” Choose and act wisely what you want else it will become more hollow and meaningless. I am giving you one more chance. Now it’s your choice to rectify everything what was wrong that shouldn’t have happened. One more wrong choice and your life will be full of miseries.

Shelly gets expelled from the TV show. And again the anchor started his show “Hi ! I am Tom”. Shelly gets to see her ex again. And this time Sophia says her “People don’t change but let’s see what you intend to do”.

The Third Gender

Never saw them in a schools uniform, never saw them in any family gatherings, never saw them in a doctor’s uniform, never saw them in a police uniform, never saw them as a teacher. Never ever saw them in any respectable place. Why??

The first time I saw them was on TV begging for money from people trains and clapping and taking money from homes where a child in newly born. And the first time I really saw them was on a train begging for money. What alternative they would have when their own parents left them?

I have seen children mocking school boys who had slightly feminine facial attributes. How would these type of kids would treat the third gender? I don’t think they would treat very well until these things are tought by their parents, schools and other elderly people to respect everyone as a person not as a gender.

In present day India many people are accepting their child if it’s of third gender unlike the past. But the situation isn’t that great for them.

Untill and unless they are given equal stature in society, they can never be uplifted. And by equal status , they should be seen by common people working in hospitals as doctors or nurses, as a police officer, as a scientist, as an software engineer and many more.

The day you find them sitting besides you in a cubicle or as a flight co- passenger or as an attendant. You would know they have really been uplifted in a true sense.

The day parents giving birth to a third gender do not sacrifice them out of shame. You would know that the third gender had really been uplifted.

According to news sources, university for transgender will be opening soon in Uttar Pradesh,India. That’s a great step ahead. Similarly, I hope someday they can study in same schools or universities with males and females without any embarrassment.

One of the fundamental rights for us is “Right to Equality”. Hope they would get equal opportunities one day and there would be no discrimination from any person anywhere.
